Background

This partnership grant proposal seeks to build on the success of the Infant Program, an efficacious cluster-randomised controlled trial designed to promote improved dietary, physical activity and sedentary behaviours in infants and their parents (Campbell et al 2008). The original Infant Program trial commenced in 2008 and involved 540 families across 11 Victorian Local Government Areas (LGAs).  The trial demonstrated the program was efficacious – that parent and child diet, and child sedentary behaviours could be positively influenced through a LGA delivered group program (Campbell et al 2008).
